VFB Scholarship Fund
The Vision For Business Leadership Development Scholarship is designed to recognize the scholastic success of promising young inner city kids that often goes unnoticed. A $1,000 interest bearing scholarship is awarded to each student chosen as an incentive to peruse higher education. The scholarship will mature upon high school graduation and will be available for allocation to any college related expense. In addition, the award has built-in incentives for students to become more active in their communities as they near high school graduation. To take advantage of these incentives a student may choose to volunteer in their community an average of three hours per week during the school year. In turn, Vision For Business will contribute $1500 to a recipient’s interest bearing scholarship fund for each year a student participates. This component of the program is beneficial in three main ways: first, a student has a way to earn tax free interest bearing funds to use towards higher education; secondly, a student develops leadership abilities by participating in civically-responsible actives; third, the community benefits from the youths involvement. VFB hopes to cultivate a community of well-educated, civically responsible young adults to lead us through the future.

The VFB Scholarship Fund originated from and is supported through the efforts of Vision For Business. Founded in February 2003, VFB evolved from a networking organization into a collective group of Twin Cities business leaders united to give back to the community. The organization will take a vested interest in its Scholarship recipients by following up and supporting them along the way. Given the diverse group of business professionals, the organization provides a tremendous community for encouragement and support.
