Trevon2008 Recipient St. Paul Public Schools Trevon's Team is led by: Sean Ferrian Tevon's Essay: My goal is to grow up and be a leader. I want to grow up and be able to graduate from college and be a singer so I can let the world know that they can look up to me. I want to let know them it's hard in life but you have to try. Being a professional singer might not work out right so you always have to have a plan B because if life doesn’t turn out how you want it you always have to have a back up plan. My back up plan is to be a writer, in fact, I'm not that even sure that will work out so that is why I have a plan C and my plan C is to be a lawyer. As a lawyer I want to be a prosecutor. I want to be that person so that if someone breaks the law, I want to make sure they get put away. In other words college is a good thing to do. I know I'm not the smartest person in the world but I am trying and doing this means a lot to me because I really need it. School is most challenging for me because my dad left me. I looked up to him and he got himself into jail and by me being an African American boy that is very hard for me. I also lost my sister. She died when she was a baby. That was hard for me. I did not even know her much and she died and I think everybody knows how sad it is to have a loss in your family. I want to make a change in the world. I want to let the world know that for African American boys if you are going through some things, you can still make it. -Trevon
